All India Muslim Personal Law Board met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

A delegation of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board headed by its General Secretary Maulana Fazlur Rahim Mujadidi met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M. K. Stalin and apprised him about the concerns of the Board on recently tabled Waqf bill in the Parliament. The delegation includes Prof. MH Jawahirullah, MLA. President Manithaneya Makkal Katchi, Tamilnadu Jamaatul Ulama Sabha President Moulana P. A. Khaja Mohinudeen Baqavi. Prof P Nasrullah Basha. Mr. H. Abdur Raqeeb of Jamaat e Islami and Mrs. Fatima Muzaffar MC.
The delegation thanked him for his party’s strong opposition of Waqf (Amendmet bill in the recently concluded Lok Sabha, which resulted the bill to be sent to the Joint Parliamentry Committee for scrutiny. The delegation further requested him to instruct his MP who is members of the JPC to oppose the bill strongly during JPC’s deliberations.
The delegation also expressed its opposition to the recently raised issue of UCC by the Prime Minister in his speech at the red fort on 15th August. They also highlighted their concerns on recently passed bill on u c in Uttarakhand assembly, which was quickly graned assent by the President. This law is not only against Muslims and violated of many fundamental rights but also arbitrary. The delegation expressed its fear that this act would be used by dominant forces as a weapon to deprive the citizens of their fundamental constitutional rights. The code violate the right of a minority group of non- assimilation. Muslim Personal law is based on Shariah, no secular law can replace it.
The Hon’ble CM gave a patient hearing to the delegation. Regarding UCC he said that in 2023 itself he had written a letter to the Prime Minister andvalso to the Chairman of Law Comission opposing UCC.?
He assured the delegation that he and his party will always stand with Muslims and do every thing to safeguared their constitutional rights.
